In 2018, I left the corporate world and grind behind for good after it took a toll on my physical health. I envisioned a place to call my own that I could share with others. I’d tell myself it would be free from all restrictions of learning and working. It stemmed from a desire to learn what I wanted and work the way I wanted.
My new source of livelihood was teaching English at school level. As someone with a background in Language and Literature as well as Logic and Philosophy, I always maintained that they should be taught together. Finding out about the Roman educational systems of Trivium and Quadrivium reinforced my resolve.
Trivium was Language (Latin), Logic and Rhetoric, that respectively taught one how to understand, think and communicate. This foundational education was followed by Quadrivium that taught Astronomy, Arithmetic, Geometry, and Music. The fact that Trivium had Humanities subjects taught to all before Maths and Science was a revelation.
My belief of interdisciplinary learning was reinforced and the name for this infinite system of education was fittingly Infinivium. Learning is an endless path and it opens up infinite ways of understanding for us to explore. Infinivium will meet you at the crossroads of life, to help you improve at every stage of education.
Going with the theme of infinity, it made sense to also include its twin concept of eternity. So the sister brand of Eternivium was formed that would be an showcase for all the different kinds of arts. I have seen my peers and my students give up their artistic dreams as they weren’t financially viable. However, Eternivium is a way for people to pursue their passion as well as their profession.
Infinivium and Eternivium both sound like classical elements with the ending of -ium, which is why the logos are based on the periodic table. The real meaning of the words is derived from the Latin word vium which is path. Thus, we have the infinite path of never-ending knowledge and the eternal path of everlasting art. I hope we can walk on it together for as long as we possibly can, thanks for reading.
